The Maintenance Technician is responsible for, including but not limited to, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, planned maintenance, servicing, refurbishing, installation activities on all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, instrumentation related equipment and civil maintenance related tasks on buildings / facilities and sites.

- Implement, maintain and ensure adherence to preventative maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and other related facilities
- Perform analyses on equipment maintenance needs from a preventative, breakdown, servicing and refurbishment perspective
- Perform root cause analyses on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, instrumentation, and other equipment / spares / consumables related failures
- Order and maintain stock levels on consumables / spares / equipment and other parts used in the plant equipment to minimize downtime by ensuring replacement spares / equipment is available
- Maintain records of plant equipment, lifespan of equipment, services, breakdowns, readings and other equipment related history as input to maintenance systems and stock requirements
- Conduct performance analyses on plant equipment using relevant instruments / tools / equipment / to establish historic maintenance records a input to maintenance systems
- Perform root cause analyses on all breakdowns, equipment failures and update relevant records and put preventative measures in place to prevent from re-occurring
- Maintain, repair, refurbish and service plant equipment / spares including but not limited to pumps, motors, cables, compressors, belt press, valves, drive unites, chemical feeders, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, motors, etc.
- Install plant equipment including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation, etc.
- Maintain accurate records on preventative / breakdown / planned / unplanned maintenance activities and utilise as input into stock maintenance system
- Adhere to OHSA regulations and requirements with regards to safe work practices / procedures including but not limited to confined space / pressure vessels / switching gears / working at heights / isolation of equipment and other regulations as required
- Make recommendations and actively participate in making modifications / improvement initiatives for equipment to ensure optimum productivity, efficiency and utilisation or equipment
- Install / change / fix water / steam / air / hydraulics / pneumatic pipelines, valves, and other mechanical and electrical equipment
- Compile / interpret drawings, blueprints, schedules, schematics and diagrams for a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, instrumentation related tasks as and when required
- Perform various riggings / slinging tasks related to the installation / removal / replacement or equipment including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, instrumentation related equipment.
Breakdown Maintenance
