Chief Occupational Therapist

Requirements :

• BSC. Degree in Occupational Therapy. Registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist with independent practitioner status plus proof of current registration. A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience post Community Services in a field of Occupational Therapist profession. Experience in the supervision of staff or the department will be an advantage. Computer literacy, drivers licence.

Duties :

• Manage (planning coordinate and implement) Occupational Therapy service in the Occupational Therapy department. Manage own patient load. Knowledge of the public service legislations, policies, and procedures. Ability to work as a member of multidisciplinary team. Manage financial and physical resources. Assist with implementing and monitoring of effective record keeping, accurate statistics collection and analysis and high standards of quality assurance. Communicate effectively with all staff members, supervisory and various members of the medical team. Supervise and managed department of all staff students. Evaluation and training. Implement and manage the performance management and Development system within the department. Manage and contribute effectively to staff meeting, team meeting, committee meetings. Represent the department in Provincial and hospital committees. Coaching and mentoring of staff. Ensure that occupational Therapy complies with the ideal hospital framework.
