The purpose of the role is to lead the development and deployment of strategic process improvement initiatives across the plant, ensuring optimal team and production performance. The Senior Process Engineer translates strategic objectives into actionable plans, drives cost reduction, enhances product quality, and ensures alignment with safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Drive and implement departmental action plans.
- Identify production losses through data analysis and drive focused improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage the annual cost-saving and improvement plan.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to enhance capability and performance.
- Ensure adherence to Quality, Environmental Health and Safety requirements of the organisation.
- Manage cost-effective product formulations to optimize raw material and packaging costs.
- Evaluate new raw materials for potential cost-benefit advantages.
- Lead projects to reduce RMP and standardise formulations.
- Oversee product performance improvements in response to market feedback.
- Ensure consistent product quality and high customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, purchasing, and industrial teams on new product development.
- Support ISO, WCM, and SHEQ standards implementation.
- Control departmental budgets and contribute to meeting operational and financial targets.
- Ensure corporate governance and risk management compliance.
Qualifications
BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering (essential)Tertiary qualification in Management or LeadershipWCM Instructor or Practitioner statusKnowledge of Kaizen tools and application.Minimum 5 years\' relevant industry experienceAt least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacityExperience with Product Development Processes (e.g., Stage Gate)Understanding of Project Management principlesExposure to WCM, ISO, and SHEQ standardsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrategic planning and systemic thinkingExcellent presentation and communication skillsOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
