Senior Accountant

Job descriptionPrepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers and reconciliations Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial packs to Head Office Preparation for Annual Financial Statement Monitor and report on cash flow, budgeting and forecasting Process VAT, income tax and other statutory returns in compliance with SARS regulations Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations Liaise with Banks, Auditors and regulatory bodies as needed Perform cost analysis related to freight and logistics operations to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported Assist with implementation and improvement of financial systems and internal controls
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelors degree in Accounting with completed Articles
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar financial accounting role
- Previous experience in the freight forwarding or logistics sector is highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax laws
- Proficient in SAP
