Purpose of Job

To manufacture detonator cord at the Prima Cord environment

Key Accountabilities

To produce detonating cord of different sizes through different stations from C1 to C6.

Take powder charge according to cord specification using the correct formula

Set up the machines according to the product needed using the correct tooling.

Recording of log sheets and production tags for traceability

Take out samples from each spool for quality check

General house keeping

Quality inspection, packing, labelling of final product. Record production quantities

To do a proper start-up before the beginning of the shift and a proper shut-down at the end of the week or when required

Have a full understanding of Epex methodology.

Be able to work under pressure

Be able to work full shifts and overtime

Detail oriented

Maintain a high standard of integrity

Fosters teamwork and collaboration

Able to work on your own with little supervision

Formal Education

Grade 12

Maths and Science will be an advantage

Working Experience

12 months+ experience in Explosives manufacturing

Experience working at the Cord Plant will be an added advantage
