Product Designer 1

DUTIES

• Take ownership and responsibility for the detailed electrical design and improvement of components and sub-assemblies on the Articulated Dump Truck, Rockscalers, Forestry and all customised products.
• Generate and present electrical design concepts and preliminary cost estimates.
• Apply a systematic approach to evaluate and compare different electrical design options.
• Generate accurate electrical schematic drawings.
• Generate accurate 3D CAD models, 2D harness drawings and assembly drawings.
• Produce a design file including all design calculations, correspondence and communication used to produce the detailed design.
• Assist with the manufacture of new customised machines under development.
• Perform necessary engineering changes to assist and improve material preparation and fabrication processes.
• Provide technical support for the manufacturing facility and other internal and external customers.
• Assist cross functional teams with electrical technical assistance.
• Perform sign off activities in accordance with the sign off procedure.
• Be responsible to keep record of own daily time utilisation.
• Assist in managing drafting resources to finalise the electrical design on new machine models.
