Rehabilitation Therapy Manager (Rehab Intervention Leader)

Our Group Practice at Nurture iLembe is looking for a Rehabilitation Therapy Manager (Rehab Intervention Leader) to join their team. Are you a person who enjoys managing an IDT team? Do you have compassion for people and their families?

Duties & Responsibilities

• To be involved / responsible for physical rehabilitation and be a member of the management team of the hospital.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of the interrelationships of speech, occupational, physical therapy, or other rehabilitation programs in patient care.
• Ability to work in collaboration with other health care providers, staff, family, and patients in meeting patient needs.
• Demonstrates good planning, organizational and interpersonal skills necessary to maintain a safe, orderly and goal directed work environment for self and the therapy team.
• To plan and conduct team meetings and generate reports and FIM scores to the respective Funders.
• To assist the therapy team with applications for provision of equipment needs.
• To discuss the rehabilitation program with the patient and family members.
• To be able to acknowledge & consider different views regarding treatment of patients in the unit and to be responsible for the final decision (in consultation with the primary doctor) regarding admissions, referrals, consequences, therapeutic treatment & discharges.
• Oversee the discipline of the team as a whole & the conduct of its team members.
• Be responsible for establishing & maintaining professional relationships with the referral community including physicians, external professionals & nursing.
• Work well with other key areas within the hospital including, admin, nursing & maintenance.
