Procurement Tender Manager Group Purchasing (Midrand)

Salary : R400 000 CTC per annum (negotiable, includes provident fund + performance-based bonus)

Note : This role is for experienced Tender Specialists only no Buyers or Administrators.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Procurement Tender Manager to lead and manage group-purchasing contracts across multiple member institutions, primarily universities.

Procurement Officer Role Overview

We are seeking a Procurement Officer with strong end-to-end tender management experience. This is a middle management role that requires excellent technical knowledge, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, engage confidently with stakeholders, and demonstrate both leadership and teachability.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full procurement process, including but not limited to :

• Tender Preparation & Documentation
• Collaborate with end-users to compile tender documentation.
• Assist in developing specifications, scope of work, pricing templates, and other tender-specific documents.
• Tender Finalisation & Advertising
• Finalise tender documents for approval and advertisement in line with organisational requirements.
• Briefing & Information Sessions
• Present and facilitate tender briefing sessions with potential bidders.
• Tender Submission & Evaluation
• Oversee the secure receipt of tenders at closing.
• Independently evaluate submissions and prepare evaluation summaries for review by relevant bid committees.
• Reporting & Committee Engagement
• Draft detailed evaluation reports.
• Present findings and recommendations to bid adjudication committees.
• Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement
• Where required, engage with tenderers for clarifications and conduct negotiations.
• Award Process
• Finalise award recommendations and ensure compliance with governance processes.
