Job description

Requirements :

  • Matric qualification,
  • A minimum of 1-year hands-on polishing experience.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Strong time management and physical stamina.
  • Proficient in polishing techniques such as rotary, manual flatting and orbital or dual-action polishing.
  • Knowledge of paint mixing and utilizing scales when required.
  • Flexible, adaptable and well-versed in the latest polishing processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform mental mathematical calculations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Execute daily polishing tasks and ensure consumables are pre-ordered.
  • Prepare aircraft components for paint application or touch-ups using masking, sanding, buffing and polishing techniques.
  • Inspect components for damages or defects before and after polishing to maintain quality standards.
  • Polish components to achieve a high gloss finish using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Remove imperfections such as scratches and swirl marks while adhering to strict quality standards.
  • Apply wax, sealants and other protective coatings to enhance the finish's appearance and durability.
  • Maintain traceability documentation for all components handled.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous waste materials.
  • Uphold cleanliness and housekeeping standards in line with the companys 5S policy.
