Job descriptionDevelop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Databricks. Integrate and manage Oracle databases for security and performance. Write and optimize SQL with strong data modeling principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, accessibility, and scalability. Support machine learning and analytical initiatives in the insurance domain. Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance existing data infrastructure. 3 to 5 years of hands-on Data Engineering experience. Proven experience with Oracle database environments. Solid SQL and data modeling capabilities. Experience in insurance or broader financial services is advantageous. Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote-first setup. Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills. Remote (South Africa) | R18,000–R25,000 per month depending on experience | 8am–5pm SAST Support Quintessence software for client environments; provide 2nd tier client support; understand client data requirements Build end-to-end data service solutions and integrations; develop queries across multiple data sources 2+ years in data analysis, modelling, troubleshooting Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Informatics, or related field Strong SQL and Excel skills; Python essential Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView) advantageous 6 months contract; AWS-focused data pipelines; S3, Glue, Redshift, DBT, Spark, Terraform 5+ years as Data Engineer; strong SQL, data modelling; CI / CD, Git and IaC Competitive contract compensation (R95k–R110k / month); remote collaboration Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Big Data, or related 3+ years in Advanced Data Engineering Experience with on-prem and cloud data pipelines (M. Fabric), API development Strong SQL, Python / R; data visualization tools Knowledge of Oracle, Teradata, or Snowflake; AWS / Azure / GCP Experience in telecommunications / financial services or fintech a plus ETL / data pipeline design aligned to requirements Develop and implement ETL pipelines Ensure data governance and quality Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor engineers 5–10 years designing data warehouses (Kimball) ETL development, SQL, AWS experience Experience with CSV / JSON; Python or R Retail, Financial Services, or Logistics experience a plus
