About the Role
We’re looking for a Finance & Strategy Associate to help build and strengthen our financial backbone across all business units. You’ll own day-to-day accounting and reporting, ensure compliance and audit readiness, and partner with leadership on strategic and analytical projects. This role is perfect for a designated accounting professional who thrives in fast-moving environments and wants to blend core finance execution with strategic impact.
What You'll Do
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Maintain accurate accounting records for all entities in Xero , ensuring up-to-date financial data.
- Process and reconcile all transactions : invoices, payments, journals, and intercompany transfers.
- Perform monthly bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, trial balances, and supporting schedules.
- Standardize chart of accounts and financial processes across the group.
Compliance & Reporting
Prepare and submit VAT returns via SARS eFiling.Assist with PAYE, provisional tax, and UIF submissions and reconciliations.Ensure reconciliations fully support VAT and compliance filings.Maintain compliance calendars and up-to-date entity registration and tax details.Financial Statements & Audit Preparation
Prepare draft Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in line with IFRS for SMEs .Compile audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.Liaise with external auditors to ensure the group is audit-ready year-round.Financial Planning & Strategic Support
Support management with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting .Conduct modeling exercises to assess business performance, profitability, and growth scenarios.Track and analyze key business and financial KPIs to uncover trends and risks.Develop dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision-making .Partner with business unit leads to optimize margins, cash flow, and capital allocation.Systems, Processes & Special Projects
Implement and improve internal financial controls and workflows.Support technology integrations between Xero, CRM, and internal systems.Assist in special projects : new entity setups, due diligence, and automation initiatives.Continuously improve forecasting and reporting tools, methodologies, and processes.Who You Are
You’re a detail-oriented finance professional who loves structure but also thrives in ambiguity. You’re comfortable moving between journal entries, financial models, and strategic conversations, and you’re motivated by the opportunity to build and improve.

You’re a designated accounting professional (CA(SA), CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA, or equivalent).You have 3+ years of experience in audit, finance, or accounting, ideally in financial services, fintech, tech, or professional services .You have strong Xero experience and can produce management accounts confidently.You enjoy combining financial rigor with strategic thinking.You want to grow into a Finance Manager or Strategic Finance Lead role in a high-growth company.❌ You should not apply if :

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.Professional designation : CA(SA), CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA, or equivalent (preferred).Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT, and AFS preparation.Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.Strong working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and SARS compliance processes.Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management ability.Why Join Us
