About the Role :

Norrin Radd (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate must possess 1-2 years of experience in a legal environment and have an LLB qualification. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team and ensuring the smooth operation of legal processes.

Key Requirements :

Educational Qualification : LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree.

Experience : 1-2 years of experience in a legal assistant or legal support role.

Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

A proactive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities :

Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, correspondence, and reports.

Conduct legal research.

Manage and maintain legal files and records, ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.

Assist with preparation for hearings, meetings, and trials.

Coordinate and liaise with clients, colleagues, and external parties.

Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and answering client inquiries.

Prepare and file legal documents with courts and regulatory bodies.

Assist with billing, timekeeping, and tracking client matters.

Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Skills : Legal Knowledge :

Familiarity with legal terminology, legal processes, and court rules. Research Skills : Ability to conduct thorough legal research using online databases and resources.

Time Management : Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to Detail : Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail when preparing and reviewing documents.

Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), legal management software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, Westlaw), and document management systems.
