Our client operates within the freight and logistics sectoran industry built on precision, timing, and operational excellence. As the organisation expands, the finance team requires a skilled accountant who can tighten controls, uplift reporting quality, and provide meaningful financial insights.
This role offers far more than routine accounting : youll collaborate closely with operational teams, influence financial decision-making, and play a key role in maintaining the companys financial stability and performance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage end-to-end financial accounting, journals, reconciliations, and general ledger control
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, reporting packs, and variance commentary
- Oversee VAT, tax submissions, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain fixed assets and ensure accurate depreciation and balance sheet schedules
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Strengthen internal controls and enhance financial processes
- Prepare for audits and work with external auditors as required
- Partner with operations to analyse costs and identify profitability improvements
- Introduce reporting enhancements and contribute to system improvements
Job Experience & Skills Required :
BCom Accounting or equivalent (completed articles advantageous)Experience within freight, logistics, supply chain, or similar fast-paced sectorsStrong understanding of accounting principles and IFRSHigh proficiency in Excel and comfort with accounting / ERP systemsMeticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlinesAbility to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholdersAnalytical mindset, organised working style, and proactive problem-solving approachApply now!
