About the Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership 2025 / 2026
Rand Water is offering an exciting 18-month Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership Programme designed to equip learners with the necessary knowledge, practical skills, and workplace experience to function effectively as Procurement Officers .
This programme aims to contribute to Rand Water’s strategic human capital development while addressing youth unemployment and empowering people with disabilities.
Number of positions : 10 (including 5 reserved for people with disabilities)
The qualification prepares learners to :
- Coordinate the procurement and supply of goods and services.
- Manage supplier relationships and contracts.
- Monitor and implement procurement schedules.
Duration : 18 months

To be considered, applicants must :
Be unemployed and not enrolled in any other institution or learnership programme.Not hold a post-matric qualification. (Failure to disclose such qualifications will result in disqualification.)Have Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematical Literacy and English (minimum Level 4 for both subjects).Be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID.Be between 18 and 35 years old (in line with NSDSIII).Provide a SAQA / NLRD verification report (obtainable from the SAQA website).For Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) :

During the learnership, participants will :
Develop and maintain operational schedules for procurement and supply.Manage procurement and supply contracts and relationships.Monitor and evaluate procurement performance.Responsibilities include :
Attending classroom sessions and participating in activities.Completing assignments, projects, and assessments.Maintaining a practical logbook to demonstrate applied knowledge.Required Skills and Attributes
