SUMMARY : Role Purpose
The Financial Manager will be responsible for managing the full financial function of the business, with a particular focus on cost control, asset management, and financial performance within the fleet industry. This role requires a commercially minded individual with strong analytical skills, hands‑on experience in managing large vehicle or transport fleets, and the ability to implement effective financial systems and controls. The successful candidate will ensure the financial integrity, profitability, and operational efficiency of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Analyse fleet operating costs, fuel expenses, maintenance, and depreciation to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of all fleet assets, ensuring proper accounting for acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts, performance reports, and variance analyses.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring effective allocation of resources across operations.
- Implement and enforce financial controls, policies, and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Oversee annual audits and liaise with auditors to ensure compliance and timely completion.
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to optimise fleet utilisation and financial performance.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with banks, suppliers, and key financial stakeholders.
POSITION INFO : Role Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification.Completed SAIPA / SAICA articles or similar professional accreditation preferred.Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in a financial management role.Proven experience within the fleet, transport, or logistics industry is essential.Strong knowledge of asset management, costing models, and operational finance.Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, or SAP) and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
