Controller: Quality Control

MAIN PURPOSE

• Reporting to the Foreman with a dotted line to the Service Manager, the Quality Controller is required to review the quality of all completed work on vehicles. Ensure the correct completion of required documentation. Road testing vehicles, promoting the quality of work delivered by the Service Technicians.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate quality of work completed and identify if the customers faults have been repaired.

• Knowledge of ELSAPRO, ASQ, Repair processes, TPI’s DISS

• Ability to control the entire QC and Gate 2 process.

Admin functions:

• Inspect an verify the repair instructions on the Job Card confirm the repair report on the back of the job card and test drive where necessary
• Must be able to adhere to Quality gate 2 processes.
• Ensure Job cards are correctly completed, the repair instructions and repair reports must comply with OEM standards.
• Report deviations from correct standards, staff not working to correct standards must be addressed with management.
• Randomly check five cars daily on the following standard items:
• Fluid levels, Oil levels, torque wheels, tire pressures, spare wheel and lights
• Do Ghost audits by Installing 2 faults once a week in ghost cars.

Skills and Expertise

• 5 years in a Motor vehicle service department
• Computer literacy and administration skills
• Audi or VW technical and process experience required.
• References essential
• Analytical mindset
• Must be able to produce and have verified proof of adherence to processes in current role.

Educational Requirement

• Grade 12 with
• Artisan Qualifications
• Driver’s License
• Diagnostic technician certification
