Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in civil engineering 5 years’ relevant experience in construction, quarrying, or civil infrastructure projects. Strong technical knowledge of concrete, earthworks, drainage, and site development. Proficient in AutoCAD and surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, total station). Excellent understanding of site health & safety practices and risk assessments. Strong communication and reporting skills. Experience working in a quarry, precast concrete, or heavy materials industry. Training or certification in health and safety (e.g., Safe Pass, CSCS, First Aid). Knowledge of planning laws, quarry permits, and environmental regulations. We are seeking a qualified and motivated Civil Engineer to join our team in Ireland.
This is a hands‑on, site‑based role that combines engineering design, project management, and technical oversight, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and manage civil engineering works related to quarry infrastructure, drainage, concrete batching plants, and access roads.
- Carry out site inspections, setting out, and surveying using GPS, total station, and other instruments.
- Liaise with production teams to ensure civil works align with operational needs and safety standards.
- Monitor the structural integrity of retaining walls, foundations, haul roads, and other critical infrastructure.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met.
- Prepare and maintain technical reports, method statements, site records, and as‑built documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety, environmental, and building regulations.
- Assist in planning permissions, quarry development proposals, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Conduct materials testing and quality control for concrete and aggregates as per EN / IS standards.
- Provide engineering support during concrete production and product development.
