Purpose of Job
- Support process engineering strategy to reach production targets, providing process engineering technical support and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Contribute unit-specific technical input for the Hydrocracker Division into daily assurance process.
- OWAP monitoring and deviation prevention on unit level and assurance that unit is optimally operated within agreed operation envelopes.
- Contribute technical input into compilation of studies / improvement initiatives and identifying and preventing risks of deviation
- Data accumulation and processing for input for improvement plans on a unit operations level.
- Deliver technical track and process related inputs required on studies, conceptual proposals and similar projects (tier 4 / 5) in accordance with sound established engineering principles and standards to satisfy business requirements.
- Provide input into driving and supporting Process Safety management studies, initiatives and defined compliance plans.
- Shutdown inspections and support with regards to process equipment integrity.
- Shutdown involvement and support on catalyst and chemicals loading, unloading and conditioning.
- Responsible for defining and managing process safety information.
- Development and implementation of Catalyst and Chemicals strategies

Give unit specific information into the development and maintenance of the plant OWAP.Monitor and identify corrective and preventative steps to ensure plants operate within the OWAP.Identify losses on unit and compile gap closure plans as input into the improvement plans.Monitor unit operation to ensure sustainable and predictable production to protect volume (provide accurate process data for the production planning and scheduling processes) and manage process and integrity related threats.Monitor and interpret performance on technical drivers, constraints and levers on catalyst and equipment levels.Test-run and mass balance verification exercise on a routine weekly basis.Leadership and strategic direction

Minimum Bachelor\'s Degree in Chemical EngineeringMust have successfully completed the 3 year Graduate Development Program5 to 8 years\' experience preferably in a Petrochemical Engineering environment or a Master\'s degree and 5 years\' experience.Working Experience

As Process / Chemical Engineer I will support process engineering strategy with respect to meeting production targets, providing process engineering technical support and identifying / implementing improvement opportunities.

Accountable to deliver technical and process track related inputs required on smaller projects in accordance with sound established engineering principles and standards to satisfy business requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Define OWAP (Operate within agreed upon parameters) and optimum operating window in which the value chain should be operatedMonitor and identify improvement opportunities to ensure operation within the OWAPMonitor and interpret performance on technical drivers, constraints and levers on value chain level taking upstream and downstream units into accountSupport shutdown with respect to value chain integration, idea generation and process equipment integrityAnalyse effectiveness of data provided for production planning and scheduling processesReport value chain and system heat maps, losses and integrity concernsAssimilate and contextualise data for input into improvement initiatives through technical investigations via the asset management processUnderstand optimum operating windows, deviations and preventative measuresDo data assimilation and contextualization to identify opportunities for input into process related improvement plans / technical landscapePro-actively monitor risk identification for own business unit operationsEnsure process integrity of equipment, inspections and recommendations of improvement opportunities during shutdownsIssue reports as per requirements / business needMonitor energy usage and identify improvement opportunitiesImprove plant reliability, volume and unit costEnsure value chain basic documentation and systems are in place and at required standardGive input and participate in Technical Engineering design reviews such as Hazops, PFD and MFD reviews, etc.Give inputs into process engineering operating manuals, including start up and shutdown procedures as well as training manualsEnsure that process engineering fundamental tools are in place and relevantCompliance with internal guidelines & policies e.g. Magement of Change (MOC) processesActively identify process safety threats and deliver on mitigation plansProvide process engineering support and input for small project process designEnsure appropriate governance is applied with regards to the process scope of work developmentSupport start-up and commissioning of business unit.Leadership and Values
