Overview

Onsite - Laundry / Service Technician Cape Town. Permanent position. Location : Killarney Gardens, Cape Town. Client : leading provider in the laundry and hygiene solutions industry. Role : Laundry / Service Technician.

Responsibilities include ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and monitoring of chemical dosing systems and laundry equipment within the plant. The role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while upholding high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure chemical dosing systems and laundry equipment are operated, maintained, and monitored effectively.
  • Install and maintain laundry dosing equipment; program laundry machines; install dish machines and chemical dosing units; maintain and repair industrial dish-machines.
  • Keep accurate records, monitor data, and maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the plant.
  • Collaborate with team members; be able to work independently and under pressure; demonstrate attention to detail and willingness to probe data for improvements.
  • Provide excellent communication and customer service; maintain reliable transport and valid driver’s license.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint) and virtual programs (MS Teams, Zoom).

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years in the role with a relevant qualification.
  • Ability to work with a team and roll up sleeves for tasks.
  • Experience in installation and maintenance of laundry dosing equipment; programming of laundry machines.
  • Experience with installation of dish machines and chemical dosing units; maintenance and repairs of industrial dish-machines.
  • Keen eye for detail and data-driven approach.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and virtual programs (MS Teams, Zoom).

    • Key Performance Areas

  • Chemical Stock Room : Maintain neat storage, stock rotation, record stock received and empty containers, track detergents and weekly stock counts.
  • In Plant Chemicals - Mixing Tanks, 200L and 25L Drums : Daily checks of mixing tanks and dosing pumps, stock levels, housekeeping, PPE, weekly cleaning of tanks and dosing equipment, and record alkalinity and leak checks.
  • Chemical Flow Rates & Alkalinities : Monthly flow rate checks for diaphragm and peristaltic pumps, daily / weekly alkalinity readings for various lines, and recording results; replace worn components as needed.
  • General : Daily observation of wash quality, ensure correct wash programs, regular reflectometer readings, and uphold supplier-customer respect and integrity.

    • Ad hoc Duties

    Assist with other duties and technical work off site as required.
