Job Summary
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for achieving regional and personal sales targets while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients in the construction industry. The role involves specifying products, supporting interior layouts, conducting product presentations, and developing new business opportunities with architects, engineers, designers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver sales revenue in line with regional and personal sales targets.
- Create, maintain, and expand customer relationships within the assigned area.
- Support the sales team with existing and potential client business by advising on product specification and interior design layouts.
- Conduct product presentations and training for clients, architects, engineers, and applicators.
- Maximise market advantage through strong focus on the contractor sector, while aligning with end-user and specifier requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, designers, and dealers.
- Develop new client leads to ensure effective market penetration.
- Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for specifications vs project conversions are achieved.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and project registers, holding monthly team meetings to update progress.
- Ensure follow-through from specification to order closure.
- Adhere to company reporting procedures and commercial administrative systems, providing feedback as required.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6 or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Degree or National Diploma).Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field, preferably in technical sales within construction or chemicals.Personal Requirements & Skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.High level of integrity and confidentiality.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.Strong interpersonal, client-facing, and public speaking skills.#J-18808-Ljbffr
