Job description

Qualifications :

  • Matric, electrical-oriented qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with industrial battery chargers or related electrical equipment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AC / DC electrical systems and basic electronics.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Experience with brands such as GNB, EnerSys, Hawker, or similar is a plus.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record (for field service roles).

Key Responsibilities :

  • Install, inspect, and service industrial battery chargers (single-phase and three-phase).
  • Diagnose and repair faulty charger components, including circuit boards, transformers, diodes, and fuses.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal charger performance and battery longevity.
  • Use electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters, battery testers) to assess charger output and system health.
  • Respond to service calls and complete repairs on-site or in-shop.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding service issues and recommendations.
  • Keep up-to-date with new models, technologies, and manufacturer specifications.
