Job description

Purpose of the role :

To plan and coordinate all planned maintenance activities performed at the site to optimise manufacturing plants

performance in a safe manner as per company's requirements.

Key Role Responsibilities :

  • Plan and arrange activities related with equipment maintenance to ensure machine availability is

achieved.

  • Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance planning meetings.
  • Place orders, received and control maintenance spare parts.
  • Control and manage maintenance store (stock levels).
  • Liaise with maintenance suppliers for breakdown resolutions (quotations annual inspections of
  • equipment as per standard.)

  • Ensure equipment compliance with safety and legal requirements. (Load certification cherry pickers
  • inspection and load testing).

  • Ensure plant equipment calibrations including gas units’ calibrations pressure vessels.
  • Ensure proper planning for building maintenance.
  • Ensure maintenance quality system is adhered to through certification compliance.
  • Support cross functional departments through administrative activities (Green Card System
  • Management, shut down planning PO and PR).

  • Plan and support organisational safety audits.
  • Support the procurement department to secure multiple services providers for competitiveness.
  • Adhered to health & safety requirements and standards as per Company policy and standards.
  • Wears protective clothing as required by the OHS act.
  • Ensure immediate working environment is clean and tidy at all times.
  • Uses correct disposal bins for waste at all times.
  • Zero IOD’s, unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with the Group Health, Safety and Environmental (SHE) policies
  • and procedures.

  • Conduct monthly safety improvements and audits
  • Qualifications, Skills and experience :

  • National Diploma Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or NQF Level 6
  • Artisan Qualification (Trade : Mechanical Fitter / Millwright) is preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the same role
  • Advanced Computer literacy
  • Must have own transport
  • Must be available to work on standby
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrate good planning and organization skills.
  • Trustworthy and Honest.
  • Be able to work in a pressured environment.
  • Be able to understand, complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
