Overview
An experienced, certified social compliance auditor that has successfully completed the APSCA CSCA member certification process and passed all the CSCA Part I – Part III exams, and is in good standing with the Association of Professional Social Compliance Auditors.
Works with audit teams to plan, prioritize, and perform audit activities and preparation of reports to ensure technical excellence. They are experienced Lead Auditors with an in-depth knowledge of the issues in the markets in which they operate and typically master different schemes.
They are in contact with the Program Manager for these schemes and support the local implementation and improvement. The ideal candidate for this position must have the ability to work under own initiative and in planning and prioritising workloads, experience of project management (desirable), leadership and team commitment, good communication skills (training), experience in managing / performing an activity related to the concerned product or similar.
Relevant industry experience in social auditing principles, successfully be APSCA certified as a CSCA auditor, and have valid recognition approval as a social compliance auditor. Minimum of two years social compliance audit experience and practical experience in associated activities, experience of team management / leadership (desirable), excellent communication skills, coupled with advanced level of English and Afrikaans.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity and Conflict of Interest Policies.
- Act as sole and / or lead auditor on selected schemes.
- Ensure effective delivery of audits in line with Responsible Business Services / CSR, Global Procedures and any Scheme requirements or client SOPs.
- Meet agreed turnaround times for reporting and other deliverables (KPIs).
- Present a professional image in all dealings with clients and auditees, maintaining and upholding SGS’s reputation.
- Promote the SGS approach and services at seminars and through presentations and articles.
- Provide technical input to back office and sales teams as required.
- Technical review of reports from other auditors when and if required to do so.
- Develop and maintain relationships through existing networks; stay up to date with industry trends, client expectations, and applicable country-specific legislative requirements; establish and maintain a network of stakeholders including NGOs, industry bodies and related contacts; attend public and client-led conferences.
- Ensure full compliance with SGS Company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct and Impartiality Policy and encourage others to do so.
- Cooperate fully with any investigations related to Quality issues or Integrity where required.
- Maintain safe working practices in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Witness other auditors for effectiveness of auditing to ensure competence is maintained.
- Lead and organize audit teams before, during and after the audit for the related job.
- Mentor auditors and provide on-the-job training. Specific tasks as Principal Auditor include coordinating with Program Managers on program implementation in their countries and sharing with the Country Manager and Technical Lead in the country (where available).
- Work with the Technical Lead in country (where available) or Manager to prepare topics for Auditor collaborative meetings.
- Identify quality, integrity, and efficiency improvement areas.
- Assist in development, improvement and revision of audit policies and procedures.
- Resolve, problem-solve and escalate complex issues to appropriate teams for analysis.
- Contribute to content development of technical documents.
Qualifications
Must be a registered CSCA with valid APSCA membership in good standing. Evidence of associated and relevant Social Auditor Training.Extensive knowledge of and experience in labour laws, ETI Base Code, occupational health and safety, and environmental management standards.Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s license.Local and international travel will be required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
