Reporting to : Operations Manager
Type : Contractor
Job Purpose
To implement, monitor, and advise on all aspects of the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) management system on a mining site. The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), 1996 and other legislation to achieve a zero-harm working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Compliance & Administration
- Maintain and update legal compliance documentation
- Facilitate safety meetings and submit safety performance reports
