Job description

A medium sized hotel in the heart of Windhoek, Namibia is seeking to employ a NAMIBIAN Financial Manager to oversee financials of the property and who will streamline accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysts and reports, train staff on business finance issues, promote regular compliance and drive income generation. The incumbent will be responsible for the leadership of the finance and accounting function.

As a member of the Executive Committee the incumbent must be a professional, demonstrate excellent financial ability including analytical and accounting skills which include forecasting, revenue management, capital expenditure planning, budgeting, cash flow management, monthly reporting, and working with the various departments within the Hotel and Casino business, and assist in developing and implementing of strategies that will ensure that the Hotel and Casino’s objectives are met.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of a relevant Diploma, or Bachelors Degree, or completion of Articles with an auditing company, or similar professional qualification, and with a minimum of eight (8) years previous experience in a similar position, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven business and commercial acumen with above average financial management ability.
  • Good computer literacy skills
  • Highly developed analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and people development skills
  • Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Uncompromising integrity and ability to maintain a high level of compliance and good corporate governance

Proficiency in accounting and Payroll packages eg SAP, VIP, Sage, Pastel etc

Please note that the hotel is only able to employ Namibian Citizens or someone with the right to abode in Namibia - this is non negotiable.
