Payroll Manager – Midrand

Our client, a well-established national organisation, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to take full ownership of their payroll function — driving accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across the business.

POSITION INFO : What You’ll Do

  • Lead the full payroll function for a large and diverse workforce.
  • Ensure accurate, compliant, and on-time payroll processing each month.
  • Provide payroll and tax expertise, guiding management on remuneration and benefits.
  • Drive process improvements, system efficiencies, and governance initiatives.
  • Partner with and to deliver analytics, reports, and payroll insights.
  • Oversee statutory compliance (PAYE, UIF, EMP201, EMP501, Workman’s Comp).
  • Manage relationships with key external partners (Sage, Standard Bank, SARS, benefit providers).
  • Mentor and develop the Payroll Administrator, ensuring a culture of precision and accountability.

What You Bring

  • A BCom in HR / or similar qualification.
  • 5–7 years’ payroll experience , with strong Sage 300 People / VIP Premier skills.
  • Proven experience managing payroll for complex environments.
  • A keen eye for detail, data integrity, and compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach — you see payroll as both a service and a strategic business tool.
