Job descriptionOverseeing and managing all technical accounting functions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards. Preparing and reviewing accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax returns, VAT, PAYE, and other statutory filings in compliance with SARS regulations. Developing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. Managing the budgeting and forecasting process, providing detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Coordinating and liaising with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met efficiently. Monitoring and managing cash flow, including liquidity planning and optimization of working capital. Analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to senior management. Overseeing payroll processing and ensuring compliance with labour and tax regulations. Implementing and maintaining financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
Minimum requirements for the role :
- Must be a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) registered with SAICA
- Minimum 1-3 years post-qualification experience or recently completed SAICA articles
- Previous employment at a Big Four firm (EY, KPMG, Deloitte, or PwC) will be advantageous
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency in IFRS
- Experience in the agricultural or manufacturing sector is advantageous
- Excellent understanding of South African tax and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, or similar)
- Willingness to work full-time in the office
