Wet Services/Fire Engineer - Consulting Industry

Job Description

• RPO Recruitment’s client, well-established consulting firm based in Johannesburg is seeking a Senior Mechanical or Civil Engineer to join its growing team as soon as possible. This role is suited to a capable and adaptable engineer with strong hydraulics (water) design experience and exposure to wet services and/or fire engineering.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate strong engineering judgement, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn and grow within the fire engineering space.

Requirements:

• BEng or BSc in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Minimum 8 years’ engineering experience at a senior level
• Strong experience in hydraulics (water) design, including: booster pump systems, drainage systems, hot water plant designs
• Understanding of wet services and fire protection systems
• Exposure to rational designs and fire sprinkler systems advantageous
• Retail project experience within wet services, fire engineering, or HVAC beneficial
• Familiarity with (previous reference to) SANS 10252 Parts 1 & 2 (Water & Drainage), SANS 10400 T (Fire), SANS 10400 P (Plumbing)
• Pr Eng registration or close to registration advantageous but not essential
• Proven employment stability
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (site visits required)
