Client : UK-Based Accounting Practice

An established UK-based accounting firm is seeking a highly skilled SAICA-qualified Accountant with UK and Xero experience. This role is ideal for a professional who has worked within an Accounting Practice for at least 3 years, servicing SMMEs on Xero Accounting Software.

About the Role

As a SAICA-qualified accountant, you will manage a diverse portfolio of UK-based clients, delivering comprehensive accounting services, ensuring compliance, and providing valuable financial insights. You'll work closely with UK managers while based in the firm's Cape Town satellite office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses to guide client decisions.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure full tax compliance and assist in preparing tax returns.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Liaise with external auditors during audits and reviews.
  • Establish and maintain internal financial controls.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial advice and support to clients and internal teams.
  • Stay informed on UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Prepare accounts and reports using Xero Accounting Software.

Qualifications & Experience

  • SAICA-qualified Accountant (completed articles).
  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or related qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience working in an Accounting Practice.
  • UK working experience (advantageous or essential).
  • Proficient in Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
