Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Professional nurse registered with the South African Nursing Council (notice 425) – diploma or degree in nursing.
Diploma or degree in nursing management registered with the South African Nursing Council.
Minimum 10 years of recognised nursing experience post‑registration; at least 5 of those years in a senior management / assistant manager role in a hospital.
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate, valid resident / driver’s licence and South African Nursing Council annual practising certificate.
Responsibilities
Manage nursing clusters, providing guidance and leadership to achieve strategic goals of the division.
Provide professional, technical and managerial support for quality patient care through effective nursing care programmes.
Advocate nursing ethos and professionalism; develop and monitor implementation of policies, procedures and standards.
Utilise information technology and management information systems to enhance service delivery.
Promote inter‑professional, multi‑disciplinary teamwork and manage human, financial and material resources in compliance with legislation.
Support the Senior Manager (nursing) and relieve as required.
