Are you a deeply technical product leader who wants to be at the forefront of reinventing education through AI? 2 Hour Learning is looking for a technical architect to lead the modernization of our AI‑powered learning ecosystem. This is a role for someone who has the technical rigor to act as a CTO, the product vision to drive transformational change, and the passion to apply those skills to unleash student potential at unprecedented scale.

Most companies bolt AI onto traditional education models like an afterthought. At 2 Hour Learning, we’ve done something entirely different : we’ve rebuilt the school model from the ground up, using AI and learning science to completely shatter the constraints of the traditional classroom. Our students don’t just improve — they dominate, achieving multiple 4s and 5s on AP exams, showing multi‑year academic growth in a single year, and consistently outperforming their own expectations. When AI is used as the core operating system of learning, student achievement explodes.

This is not a traditional product management role focused on customer feedback loops or incremental feature delivery. This is a technical product ownership role at the executive level, where you will own the architecture, technical strategy, and AI integration of our entire learning system and make hard technical trade‑offs that keep our products lean, scalable, and focused on improving student outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Maintaining and demonstrating deep education product expertise to guide strategic decisions
  • Developing technical specifications that make important technical decisions and prioritize simplicity, efficiency, and long‑term viability
  • Implementing generative AI technologies to automate and streamline engineering processes, aligning with the strategic vision of reducing manual labor

  • Pure people management; your business and technical acumen will play critical roles in this position
  • Wasting your time in meetings, committees, and administrative tasks; we have automated management overhead so you can focus on creating business value through hands‑on work
  • High‑level strategies without implementation guidelines; your recommendations must be based on product‑level insights

    • Principal Product Architect Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the CTO of one or more education products, owning core competencies and driving business value through seamless execution and strategic decision‑making

    • Basic Requirements

  • Deep experience and interest in data‑driven learning science
  • 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open‑source technologies
  • 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
  • 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue‑generating product
  • Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI
  • Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes

    This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD / hour, which equates to $400,000 USD / year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
