What Youll Do

Partner with the Business

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business goals, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Translate business questions into clear, data-driven requirements and KPIs.
  • Explore data sources, assess data quality, and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement.

Build & Deliver Qlik Solutions

  • Develop scalable Qlik Sense applications, including data models, load scripts, and optimized ETL processes.
  • Design dashboards that are not only visually engaging but also intuitive and user-friendly.
  • Apply best practices in front-end development, from consistent styling to drill-downs and conditional logic.
  • Use advanced Qlik techniques (set analysis, variables, expressions) to create dynamic, interactive dashboards.

    • Drive Innovation

  • Bring fresh ideas to the table, challenging assumptions and identifying new ways to unlock value through data.
  • Evaluate and introduce Qlik extensions, mashups, and third-party tools that expand capabilities.
  • Explore automation, API integrations, and advanced analytics opportunities.

    • Collaborate & Mentor

  • Lead demos and walkthroughs with stakeholders to refine solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers, setting best practices in design and coding.
  • Contribute to reusable components, templates, and standards that benefit the wider BI team.

    • Support & Govern

  • Ensure dashboards and data align with governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Perform regular health checks, optimisations, and enhancements to maintain performance.
  • Provide support for production environments, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements.

    • What Were Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in Qlik Sense development (both front-end and back-end).
  • Strong skills in SQL, data modelling, and ETL across multiple data sources.
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders, gather requirements, and deliver in an agile environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of designing effective, user-centric solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging way.
  • A passion for data storytelling and creating dashboards that drive real business impact.

    • Bonus Skills (nice to have) :

  • Experience with Qlik NPrinting, Qlik SaaS, QMC, or REST APIs.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or big data environments.
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or other data science tools.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards (GDPR, POPIA, etc.).

    • How Well Measure Success

  • Dashboard Adoption Rate The percentage of users actively engaging with your dashboards.
  • Insight-to-Action Time How quickly requirements turn into live, usable solutions.
  • Issue Resolution Time The speed and efficiency of solving production issues.
  • Reuse Rate of Assets Contribution to reusable templates and BI standards.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction The quality, relevance, and business value of your solutions.
