Introduction
We are seeking a committed and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join a multidisciplinary team in White River Mpumalanga. This permanent role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of individuals affected by substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. The psychologist will provide therapeutic services across inpatient outpatient and community-based settings.
Job Description
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Deliver individual and group therapy using evidence-based modalities (e.g. CBT DBT trauma-informed care)
- Support patients through addiction recovery relapse prevention and psychiatric stabilization
- Collaborate with psychiatrists nurses social workers and allied health professionals
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to case reviews
- Participate in community outreach staff training and program development
Minimum Requirements
Degree in Clinical or Counselling PsychologyRegistered with the HPCSA as a Clinical or Counselling PsychologistMinimum 3 years experience in addiction and psychiatric careExperience in rehabilitation centres psychiatric hospitals or community mental health settingsFamiliarity with DSM-5 and dual diagnosis managementDesired Attributes
