The Main Purpose of the Job
The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting with all food service-related activities, including managing daily kitchen operations, implementing the production process, managing food and labour costs, and ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.
Education and Experience Required :
- Relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive kitchen management experience is required.
- Experience working within budget guidelines to achieve results is essential.
- Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
- Hospital experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of HSE regulations is beneficial.
- Knowledge of special diets is mandatory.
- Healthcare experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies :
Knowledge of catering environments, from fine dining to restaurant settings.Understanding of South African and industry-specific laws.Customer service skills.Management and leadership skills.Excellent communication skills.Strong event planning and coordination skills.Ability to manage budgets and reduce soft costs.Computer literacy.HSE knowledge.Key Areas of Responsibility :
