ALX Africa is now looking for a Junior Multimedia Designer to support the Creative Production team in the Learning Department, working remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and assemble illustrations, either for static end‑use or layered for later animation.
  • Design infographics and data visualisations for learning material.
  • Design and correctly utilise templates for client CI elements, such as presentations, documents, and email collaterals.
  • Design new and utilise existing motion graphic elements, such as video branding templates and kinetic typography overlays.
  • Storyboard and animate 2D vector graphics, including basic character animation.
  • Edit video and audio footage into cohesive videos for learning.
  • Re‑brand existing graphics, videos, and animations into new styles.
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and ensure brand consistency in all work.
  • Perform quality control checks on your own and peers’ work.
  • Enact changes to your work based on the provided feedback.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to work to strict deadlines and think independently.
  • Act as a team player, providing support and feedback to peers, as well as contributing to the processes and ways of work of the team.
  • Manage your time efficiently, and prioritise effectively when working on multiple tasks and / or projects.
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree or 3‑year diploma in multimedia design, graphic design, animation, motion design, or similar.
  • 1‑2 years experience in an agency or in‑house creative studio.
  • A strong multimedia portfolio displaying range across digital design, animation, and video.
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC Suite (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro).
  • Experience in and / or willingness to rapidly up‑skill in interactive design and animation software (Rive).
  • Experience working in the EdTech industry.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Knowledge of AI‑gen tools and AI‑augmented creative workflows.
  • Experience creating content for pan‑African audiences.

    This role is a full‑time position.

    WORK HOURS

    The required work hours are 40 hours per week.

    PREFERRED TIME ZONES

    The preferred time zones are GMT to GMT+4.

    Due to the considerable amount of virtual working and interaction with colleagues and customers in different physical locations internationally, it is essential that the successful applicant has the drive and ethic to succeed working fully remotely. Self‑drive to communicate constantly using web collaboration and video conferencing is essential. As an employee, you will be encouraged to continually develop your capability & attain certifications to reflect your growth as an individual.
