Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement welding quality plans.
  • Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with ISO, ASME, AWS, and other standards.
  • Conduct inspections of welds, materials, and processes.
  • Manage welding documentation, including WPS (Welding Procedure Specification), PQR (Procedure Qualification Record), and WPQ (Welder Performance Qualification).
  • Lead investigations of welding-related defects and ensure corrective / preventive actions.
  • Provide technical support and training to welders and production teams.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or diploma (Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Welding preferred).
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI / IWE or equivalent) advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, etc.).
  • Familiarity with NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT).
  • Minimum years of welding / quality experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
  • Good communication for liaising with production, clients, and auditors.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality management systems, and continuous improvement.
