Overview

The Junior Credit Controller plays a key role within the Finance team, focused on maintaining healthy customer accounts and ensuring timely payments. The position is responsible for assisting with day‑to‑day management of customer credit, account maintenance, payment tracking, and collections. By building strong customer relationships, adhering to credit policies, and contributing to ongoing process improvements, the Junior Credit Controller helps to reduce credit risk and support accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Customer Relationship Management : Serve as a point of contact for customer account queries. Build professional relationships with customers to support timely payments. Ensure clear and courteous communication when following up on outstanding invoices.
• Credit Policy Management : Assist in preparing and maintaining customer account documentation. Support capture and updating of customer master data under supervision. Help ensure adherence to internal credit control policies and procedures.
• Credit Risk Management : Monitor customer credit limits and flag potential credit risks or held orders. Assist with tracing, verifying, and matching incoming payments to customer accounts. Support collections activities through follow‑ups via email and phone.
• Analysis & Reporting : Contribute to weekly and monthly account reconciliations. Assist in preparing and distributing customer statements. Upload statements and supporting documents to customer / retail portals. Provide data and administrative support for month‑end reporting processes.
• Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to streamline credit control processes. Provide feedback on recurring issues or inefficiencies in customer accounts. Participate in credit control system testing or upgrades as required.
• Team Collaboration & Learning : Work closely with the Senior Credit Controllers and broader finance team. Attend training sessions to develop technical and soft skills. Contribute to team meetings and share updates on account statuses.
