All tasks are aimed at contributing towards the Department’s objectives and industry development goals. The evaluation would include performing the financial, technical and marketing due diligence functions and ensuring risk identification and mitigation.
Job Description
This role includes the following, but is not limited to :
Financial / Shareholder Returns
Assess applications for fundingReview Resource Efficiency ReportsEnsure applications are in line with fund criteriaAssess economic viability and sustainability of applicationsPrepare financial models and draft submissionsParticipate in due diligence teams ensuring that businesses are financially viable and sustainableInternal / Operational Processes
Efficient management of allocated assessments and applications for funding, liaising with applicants and assessors, conducting basic assessments, resolving queries and conducting due diligences with other team membersPerform due diligence on applications for fundingEvaluate applications including financial, technical, or marketing disciplines through due diligence investigations.Designing and negotiating the financial, EHS, legal and other relationships between the clientDeal Optimization - Ensure that the deal is aligned with the strategic objectives of the department as specified by the funder and will contribute to meeting industry development goalsConduct compliance assessmentsInitiate collation of all Conditions Precedent prior to handover to Post Investment teamPrepare drafting of submission reports for review in preparation of submission to the approval panelEnsuring accurate client data management.Ensure signed reports are submitted to Admin for Project Approval Panel preparation and filingCustomer Focus & Stakeholder Management
Maintain relationships with all relevant external stakeholders including assessors, enquirers, applicants and portfolio clients in conjunction with different support functions in the IDC.Ensure the provision of client service excellence and optimize service delivery in a manner that meets the client’s needs;Efficient management of allocated applications for funding, liaising with applicants, conducting basic assessments, resolving queries from applicants and conducting due diligences with other team members.To interact with the required departments in order to fulfil the process requirements related to any specific business transaction.Manage and enhance the levels of service and communication to ensure the provision of client service excellence.inform Business Partner if application is not approved due to outstanding documentation or as a result of non-approval by the panel and update SAP.Liaise with clients to ensure approved funding have been utilized appropriately.Identify strategic data to be collected for each Business Partner and ensure this is obtained.General

CA (SA) or BCom Accounting degree e.g. BCompt, BEng / BSc or similar qualificationHonours Degree will be an advantageMBA / MBL will be an advantageProject Management Professional qualification (PMP) will be an advantageRoles and Responsibilities
5 to 8 years’ experience in a Financial Institute / Development Financing environment role with exposure to due diligence in a finance / banking.Should have at least 3 years’ experience in assessing the economic viability of businesses and / or projectsSound experience in a financial environment is essentialOutstanding skills in respect of the analysis and interpretation of financial statementsSound knowledge of business and the diversity of risks that may affect businessesGood understanding of different types of securityGood working knowledge of Company and Contract legislationUnderstanding of Economic trendsProject management experience.Good writing and presentation skills, particularly to committees / boardsExperience working in a high-level collaborative environment Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while building effective relationshipsWell organized and persistent, with drive and determination to achieve goalsTechnical Competencies
