Overview
To drive operational effectiveness and excellence across the business by designing and documenting innovative solutions that enhance performance and support strategic objectives. This role is accountable for managing and coordinating complex operational units, addressing sensitive and strategic business challenges, and contributing to long-term planning.
Responsibilities
- Lead key projects within the business unit and across the organization, ensuring timely delivery of critical outcomes.
- Serve as a functional expert on designated applications, acting as a liaison between business units and IT to ensure alignment and optimal system utilization.
- Identify and escalate potential risks that may lead to increased costs.
- Ensure customer excellence through interaction with internal and external customers throughout all business activities.
- Manage and coordinate the development of all approved versions of business and functional specifications for specified applications.
- Analyse the Business Unit\'s activities and trends and compare analyses against service standards and best practices.
- Present findings and work with the Business Analyst Team Leader or Business Unit Manager and other personnel to identify and implement strategies that address tactical and strategic goals.
- Analyse market trends and recommend adjustments and / or capitalising on current trends.
- Review, analyse, and create detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
- Review technical documents with IT project staff to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents.
- Conduct quality assurance practices and procedures on end user test plans and other quality assurance assessments.
- Design and document workflow ensuring that all tests are conducted and documented according to the standards agreed upon by the business unit and IT.
- Ensure that all documentation accurately reflects the status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions.
- Advocate the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects; work with the IT project manager to ensure the software development process has an appropriate level of testing.
- Analyse discrepancies in service or performance and make recommendations for updates.
- Manage and monitor all Business Analyst related phases of the project or service lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress.
- Coordinate actions and resolve conflicts that arise.
- Interact and communicate with relevant personnel within the organisation in respect of business requirements.
- Plan and implement human capital requirements for area of responsibility.
- Plan financial requirements for division.
- Plan system and technology requirements and enablers for area of responsibility.
- Develop measurement metrics to evaluate business performance and behaviour across area of responsibility using benchmarked methodologies.
- Benchmark internal practices against industry standards to establish best practices.
- Contribute to team success by ensuring team commitment and cohesion.
- Identify and participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development.
