Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, qualified, and faith-driven High School Teacher to join our Christian learning community. The ideal candidate will teach one or more subjects aligned to the CAPS curriculum while nurturing learners in a Christ-centred environment that promotes academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching & Learning : Deliver engaging and effective lessons based on the CAPS curriculum for Grades 8–12.
  • Develop lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments in accordance with the subject\'s annual teaching plan (ATP).
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and Christian values into teaching where appropriate.

Assessment & Record Keeping

  • Conduct continuous and formal assessments, including SBA (School-Based Assessment) tasks, tests, and examinations as per CAPS requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, marks, and progress.
  • Provide timely feedback to learners and parents, and compile term reports.
  • Christian Ethos & Spiritual Guidance

  • Serve as a Christian role model in speech, conduct, and lifestyle.
  • Participate in devotions, prayer, and spiritual mentorship activities.
  • Support the school\'s Christian mission by guiding students in Christian character development and Biblical worldview.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, subject heads, and school management.
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, and school events.
  • Maintain professional ethics and uphold the values of the Christian school community.

  • A strong personal relationship with Christ and a commitment to Christian education
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills

  • Facilitate ACE Curriculum : Guide students through PACE workbooks, ensuring they understand and master each concept before progressing.
  • Monitor Learning Centers : Supervise individual student workstations in the Learning Center, maintaining order, discipline, and a focused learning atmosphere.
  • Score and Supervise : Ensure learners follow ACE procedures for scoring, correcting, and goal setting. Oversee academic progress through scoring stations.
  • Academic Support : Provide individual assistance where needed, especially in foundational subjects such as reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Spiritual Mentorship : Model and teach Biblical values, incorporating daily devotions, scripture memory, and Christian character training.
  • Assessment & Record-Keeping : Track and record student progress using ACE tracking systems (e.g., goal charts, progress reports).
  • Parent Communication : Regularly update parents on academic progress, behavior, and spiritual growth through meetings and written reports.
  • Qualifications & Skills

  • B.Ed. degree or PGCE; Foundation Phase
  • Permanent SACE number
  • Police clearance
  • Familiarity with or willingness to train in the ACE system
  • Strong Christian faith and alignment with the school\'s statement of faith
  • Passion for working with children and guiding them in both academics and character
  • Ability to work independently and manage a self-paced classroom
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
