Civil Engineering Design Technologist – Queenstown, Eastern Cape

VACANCY : CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN TECHNOLOGIST IN QUEENSTOWN, EASTERN CAPE

Buchule Engineers (PTY) Ltd is seeking a Design Technologist / Engineer with extensive experience in bulk water, wastewater and sewer projects. The Designer will be based in the Queenstown office in the Eastern Cape.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently execute all design stages from designs to technical reports.
  • Ensure team delivery of projects; source required information, clarity, tools and support to enable team success.
  • Take ownership and lead on technical matters on assigned projects.
  • Prepare technical engineering reports, designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications.

DETAIL DESIGN OF CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES

  • Preliminary site investigations, data collection and feasibility studies.
  • Calculate scheme demands for water and sewer networks.
  • Design water and sewer reticulation and bulk networks.
  • Design sewer and water pump stations.
  • Design water purification systems and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Design stormwater, roads, structures and general civil engineering services (advantageous).
  • DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • NQF 7 Qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
  • 5+ years experience as a Design Engineer / Technologist in a design office.
  • Knowledge of design standards and contracts such as SANS, COTO, GCC, JBCC.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • CRM systems proficiency.
  • Negotiation, networking and customer relation skills.
  • Business acumen and financial mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
  • Business / Management tertiary qualification (advantageous).
  • Relevant staff management and recruitment experience.
  • Experience in facilities management / support services.
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office Suite, Zoom).
  • Valid driver’s licence with vehicle access.
