The Role : Senior Civil Design Engineer (Water / Wastewater)

This role involves leading and coordinating civil design engineering work for water and wastewater treatment projects. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver detailed designs from concept through to construction, collaborating with UK-based stakeholders and ensuring compliance with Eurocodes, OHSA, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead civil design tasks on major and moderate scope infrastructure projects.

Interpret client requirements and develop design deliverables such as calculations, sketches, reports, and risk assessments.

Coordinate condition surveys and integrate survey outputs into civil design.

Use AutoCAD AEC software to develop site layouts, structures, buried assets, and temporary works.

Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other design disciplines.

Perform technical bid evaluations and ensure supplier designs meet compliance standards.

Mentor junior engineers and promote technical innovation within the team.

Support construction teams with design clarification and site-based guidance.

About You

7+ years experience delivering water / wastewater civil engineering projects.

BTech / BSc in Civil Engineering; ECSA registered (PR Eng / PR Tech / Candidate).

Strong understanding of design codes, safety standards, and water industry requirements.

Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

Fluent in English with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Organised, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, team-driven environment with UK time zone collaboration.
