The company designs and manufactures innovative, problem-solving pet products—best known for their patented designs that make pet ownership cleaner and easier.

We operate a vertically integrated model that includes three U.S. injection molding plants, a 3PL fulfillment warehouse, and Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FBA/FBM). Our primary sales channels include Amazon, Walmart.com, Tractor Supply, PetSmart, TJ Maxx, and our Shopify DTC store.

By combining design innovation, manufacturing excellence, and a data-driven eCommerce strategy, the company has become a trusted brand in pet care—and we’re now expanding into new product categories.

We’re looking for a Controller who can bring structure, visibility, and financial insight to our multi-location operations, leading accounting excellence and supporting our next phase of growth.

Position Overview

The Controller will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, with a strong focus on inventory accounting, Amazon financial management, and cost control across multiple facilities.

You’ll ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financials while supporting operational efficiency. This role requires deep expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, Amazon FBA/FBM/AWD processes, and proficiency in Sage 100 Cloud ERP.

Familiarity with AI and automation tools for reconciliation, forecasting, and process optimization is highly valued—the company actively leverages intelligent systems to reduce manual workload and enhance financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

🧾 Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all business units (manufacturing, fulfillment, eCommerce).
• Prepare and maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Oversee A/P, A/R, payroll, and banking operations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Consolidate financial results from molding plants, 3PL partner, and Amazon channels.
• Partner with the CEO to deliver financial reports, forecasts, and insights.

📦 Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Manage inventory and cost accounting across three molding plants, a 3PL warehouse, and Amazon FBA/FBM/AWD storage.
• Maintain standard and actual costing in Sage 100 Cloud.
• Track production, transfers, and landed costs per SKU (including freight, duties, and tariffs).
• Reconcile inventory between manufacturing, 3PL, and Amazon facilities.
• Provide real-time visibility into stock valuation, inventory turnover, and COGS accuracy.

💰 Amazon Financial Management

• Oversee Amazon FBA/FBM/AWD financials, including settlement reconciliations, FBA fees, and reimbursements.
• Analyze advertising spend, storage fees, and promotional discounts for profitability.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant revenue recognition and accurate transaction timing.
• Partner with operations to align inbound shipments and fulfillment costs with accounting data.
• Deliver SKU- and channel-level profitability analysis and performance dashboards.

⚙️ Systems, Controls & Automation

• Serve as Sage 100 Cloud administrator, ensuring accuracy across accounting and manufacturing modules.
• Integrate Sage with Amazon and 3PL systems (via A2X, Webgility, or custom APIs).
• Implement AI-powered tools for reconciliation, forecasting, and automation.
• Develop automated dashboards and financial reports for leadership visibility.
• Strengthen internal controls and maintain audit-ready documentation.

🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with leadership and operations on production planning and cash flow alignment.
• Support logistics and supply chain with inventory optimization and cost efficiencies.
• Deliver financial insight to guide pricing, SKU performance, and margin improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, eCommerce, or consumer goods.
• Expertise in inventory and cost accounting for multi-location operations.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 100 Cloud ERP (required).
• Experience managing Amazon FBA/FBM/AWD and 3PL integrations.
• Proficiency with Amazon Seller Central and financial reconciliation tools.
• Familiarity with AI, automation, or analytics platforms for data accuracy and forecasting.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Success Metrics (First 12 Months)

• Achieve month-end close within 5 business days with full reconciliation across all systems.
• Maintain >98% inventory accuracy across plants, 3PL, and Amazon.
• Implement AI-assisted reconciliation to reduce manual workload by ≥30%.
• Deliver automated SKU-level profitability and cost reporting.
• Maintain zero material audit adjustments and strong compliance documentation.
