Dental Treatment Coordinator (US Healthcare) – EST Hours (Remote)
We are a global BPO company recruiting on behalf of a USA-based dental services provider. The role is a non‑clinical administrative position that supports remote dental care operations by liaising between dental practitioners and patient representatives—such as family members, nursing homes, or powers of attorney—to obtain consent for recommended dental procedures. This position is ideal for someone with a medical or dental background, excellent telephone manner, strong administrative skills, and the ability to manage complex cases with empathy and professionalism.
Working Hours & Environment
- Working Hours : Monday–Friday, 9 am–6 pm EST (15 : 00–24 : 00 South African time). Hours may change with daylight savings or operational requirements.
- Work Environment : Fully remote.
- Internet Requirements : Minimum 25 Mbps fibre line with wired Ethernet. Applicants without fixed fibre line will not be considered.
- Power Backup : Reliable backup required to manage load shedding and outages. Applicants without backup will not be considered.
- Public Holidays : Required to work on all South African public holidays, compensated per BCEA.
Key Responsibilities
Review dental procedure reports submitted by dentists.Contact patient representatives (nursing home staff, family members, or POAs) to explain the required treatment and obtain consent.Clearly communicate dental terminology and procedures, ensuring understanding and comfort.Maintain accurate records of communication, consents, and follow‑ups.Coordinate with internal dental teams to ensure timely treatment approvals.Handle a high workload transitioning from a previous handler, with training and guidance provided.Use discretion, empathy, and professionalism during sensitive conversations.Problem‑solve creatively and independently to resolve approval or communication issues.Provide exceptional customer care and build trust with all stakeholders.Requirements
Previous experience in healthcare, dental, or customer care roles strongly preferred.Solid understanding of medical and dental terminology (or quick research ability).Excellent verbal communication and telephone etiquette.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.High level of tech‑savviness; comfortable with multiple digital tools.Empathetic, caring, and patient personality; able to stay composed under pressure.Adaptable to new systems and processes; willing to follow detailed instructions.Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem solving.If you are not contacted within 14 working days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
