Job description

Main purpose of the job :

To provide comprehensive medical care / clinical support to participants in HIV Prevention (and similar) clinical trials at the PHRU

Location :

PHRU, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto

Key performance areas :

Provision of clinical care to patients and participants

Accurate and comprehensive medical record keeping

Management of patient / participant flow in the clinic

Clinical trial conduct as delegated by the principal investigator

Required minimum education and training :

Medical Degree - MBChB / MBBCH

Professional Body Registration :

HPCSA registration

Required minimum work experience :

At least two-years experience in a clinical environment (can be inclusive of internship / community service time)

Must be able to start work immediately (preferably)

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities :

Must be registered with MPS

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subjects Protection (or equivalent) certification

Research experienced with experience in HIV Prevention trials, HIV treatment and general patient care

Empathy and understanding

Excellent clinical skills

Computer literacy using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
