Senior .NET Developer, DirectAxis
This role is within DirectAxis — a division of FirstRand Limited and will be responsible for implementing a program of technology projects to ensure that program goals are accomplished.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver on business requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust software solutions using Agile best practices.
- Continuously improve development processes and practices to enhance team productivity and product quality.
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate developers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Stay informed with new technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
- Problem‑solve and resolve technical issues, providing solutions that align with business needs.
- Lead projects, manage project deliverables, and communicate with business stakeholders.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in code and systems.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in areas outside of core development.
- Research new technology being used in the financial sector.
- Develop prototype systems to test and prove new technology.
- Make recommendations of technology and vendors that can support the technology and specify use cases.
- Maintain and share a knowledge base of financial technology, trends, and news for the group.
- Develop bespoke applications to assist treasury functions in the bank.
- Participate with the broader community in the development of a blockchain platform for financial systems.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in BCom, B.Eng., BSC Eng, BSc Information or IT related degree.5–8 years of proven experience as a Senior .NET Developer or similar role.Expertise in front‑end development languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, and CSS.Expertise in C#, ASP.NET, MVC and other relevant technologies.Experience with database design and optimization (SQL Server, Entity Framework etc.).Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.Experience with CMS / XMS systems and ETL tools is advantageous.Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Job Details
