Remote Sales Tax Accountant (Full‑Time)

100% Remote; South Africa. Core hours : 2 : 30 PM–7 : 30 PM SAST. Remaining hours may be completed before or after core hours.

About The Role

TaxValet is looking for a Sales Tax Accountant to help clients eliminate the hassle and risk of sales tax. As a member of our growing startup, you will ensure each client’s needs are met each month, use your keen eye for detail to solve time‑critical problems, submit sales tax filings, and contribute to improving team workflows and processes. You should be a self‑starter, willing to learn on the job, and take ownership of your work. A reliable, high‑speed home internet connection is required.

Your Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting or audit experience
• Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
• Excel or Google Sheets proficiency—including complex formulas and pivot tables
• Bonus : US tax knowledge or a Chartered Accountant designation
• Detail‑oriented, strong analytical and time‑management skills
• Effective communicator (written and verbal) in English
• Team player who shares learnings and contributes to continuous improvement
• Creative problem‑solver who follows processes but can think beyond the standard approach
• Eager to learn new skills and technologies
