Degree in Accounting or Investment Management or Financial ManagementHonours Degree in Accounting or Investments or Financial Management (preferred)Studying toward CA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA (preferred)Completed accounting articles (preferred)At least 2 – 5 years’ experience in accounting and or investmentsDuties & Responsibilities
Performing of the Investment Accounting function for Guardrisk Insurance Company Limited, Guardrisk Life Limited and Guardrisk Microinsurance Limited which includes the unitised and dedicated investments investment portfolios, for cell captive & contingency policy clientsAccurately, efficiently and timely accounting and reporting of investment related transactions of investment portfolios in the general ledgerReview and / or prepare investment related payment documents and obtain the necessary source documentation and authorisation to effect payments timeously and within the determined service level agreementReview all documentation to ensure that the correct level of authority has authorised the document and raise any exceptions with the relevant stakeholderPreparation of investment and disinvestment instructions authorised according to the sub delegation of authorityCompletion of asset manager FICA documentation and safekeeping of confidential informationCompile and prepare monthly, quarterly and year end investment and interest reconciliations including monthly cashbook reconciliationsCompile quarterly asset allocation report for submission to the Reserve Bank and asset spreading recons to be used by the balance sheet management departmentCompile adhoc monthly and quarterly reporting for internal and external stakeholdersCompletion of the new instrument data reconciliations to be included in the Group sector tree instrument allocation reportIdentify, report and resolve respective investment accounting or reporting issuesPortfolio support and management / servicing by working closely with the portfolio accountants, portfolio manager and other stakeholdersAssist with Special Projects relating to Investments assigned within the groupMeeting company, investment and client accounting, payment and reporting deadlinesContribute to the enhancement of the investment systems and processes to enhance financial managementContribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideasBuild and maintain relationships with asset managers, clients as well as internal and external stakeholdersParticipate and contribute to a culture which build rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client servicePrepare and provide necessary documentation to complete timely audit for both the client and GuardriskContribute to the internal and external audit process and resolve any audit queries within the deadlines setContinuously develop own expertise in terms of professional, industry and legislation knowledgeBuild and maintain relationships with asset managers, clients and internal and external stakeholdersDeliver on service level agreements made with internal and external asset managers, stakeholders and clientsMake recommendations to improvement client service within area of responsibilityParticipate and contribute to a culture which build rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client serviceDevelop and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with peers and stakeholdersPositively influence and participate in change initiativesContinuously develop own expertise in terms of professional, industry and legislation knowledgeContribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideasTake ownership for driving career developmentContribute to the budgeting process and provide the relevant reports and analysis to support the process.Manage high risk and problematic financial issues in area of accountability and contribute to the development of policy.Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.Implement and provide feedback on the effectiveness of financial policy, practice and procedures preventing illegal, unethical or improper conduct.Investigate reported wilful acts of non-compliance to organisation policy and practice and report on findings.Competencies
