Job Summary
As a Senior Oracle DBA, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance of Oracle database systems. You will ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of databases across production, test, and development environments. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional IT teams and mentoring junior DBAs.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases (including RAC, Data Guard, and ASM).
- Perform database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor database performance and proactively address issues.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
- Ensure compliance with data security standards and regulations.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to support application performance.
- Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership.
Qualifications
Matric and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.Expertise in Oracle 12c / 19c architecture, administration, and performance tuning.Strong understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager.Experience with Linux / Unix environments and shell scripting.Familiarity with NoSQL databases and Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.Certifications such as OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) are highly desirable.Skills
