Senior Structural Engineer - Consulting Industry

RPO Recruitment's client, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm in South Africa is seeking an experienced, qualified and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Cape Town as soon as possible. Responsibilities : Manage large-scale engineering projects from planning to completion, including resource allocation and budgeting. Define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Approve designs, calculations, and specifications to ensure technical excellence. Provide innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges. Conduct advanced analysis, including structural, mechanical, or environmental assessments. Develop and enforce quality standards and best practices for engineering projects. Conduct site inspections to identify risks, ensure safety, and verify adherence to designs. Mitigate potential project risks through proactive analysis and planning. Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth. Facilitate knowledge-sharing and promote the adoption of new technologies and techniques. Act as a primary point of contact for clients, presenting technical solutions and progress updates. Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Requirements : BSc / BEng degree in Civil Engineering Masters Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering advantageous Pr Eng registration with ECSA Minimum of 10-15 years relevant experience, ideally within a consulting engineering environment Strong technical expertise in reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and timber structures Proficient in structural analysis / design software (e.g., Prokon, ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit) Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and make sound engineering judgments Benefits : Salary : Negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications Contact RPO Recruitment for our next career opportunity.
